@denkiii @raredisorders @maladorphelines At least in most cases I can do so. Things have also been easier since I finally got a GP who isn't a "oh well did you learn that from google?" dickhead. The past 2 years have been a lot easier in terms of advocating for myself.

@denkiii @raredisorders @maladorphelines I've got my "I have a fever & this is why it's concerning" speech pretty well rehearsed & I take the extra step on making making sure I go to the ER attached to where my cardiologist works as an outpatient doc; I also recognize that I'm fortunate to be able to do so.

@denkiii I don't show fevers for small infections as well, so there have been times where a doctor will refuse to actually check my ear for an infection because "if it's infected, then you'd have a fever". Like, NO. NO I WILL NOT HAVE A FEVER MY EAR IS KILLING ME FUCK.

@denkiii @raredisorders @maladorphelines I don't fit into the rare disorder corner, but I can attest to how much energy it takes when you have to advocate for yourself. I've previously talked about my stuff, but don't think I've mentioned that a fever means an immediate ER trip & it's a tossup on if the doc believes me.
