@SandmanMGTOW Angelina shouldn't be on here. She was a good parent, by just letting her daughter express herself as a boy, and that's where Angelina's contribution to her daughter's tomboy-hood stopped.

Nothing wrong with tomboys, and her daughter is now a beautiful young woman. :)

I think what I'm attempting to get across is the standards of that particular era. Because of commonly held social values and norms, overall, the people could relate.

If not, the series wouldn't've been popular.

I'm from Brixton and my father, member of the TA, was about the same age as those characters, and held similar values. It was a different age back then. I was a girl and I remember that caliber of men.

My point was, I bet you can rhyme off at least five great rock and roll bands from the '60s, '70s, '80s (meh) and '90s. Not so much the '00s.

@SelfDestructIn5 @OrwellNGoode Yeah, but metal is a genre that has a specific appeal group, whereas rock was something that appealed to, and unified, most of the kids of those particular generations.

The Internet, and the demise of terrestrial radio, has ensured that unifying factor is now dead and gone. :(

Feminism has done so much damage to the image of what a woman is that I can't just make a post talking about the wonderful qualities of one of us, like I did for men.

So, I'm going to tell you who I am.

In the game of Chess the most powerful piece on the board is the Queen. You can win the game without her, but you'll lose most of the kingdom in the process.

In chess all the pieces guard the King, but none so ferociously as the Queen. She takes up the mantle when her warrior is cornered and battered, because she understands his value. She knows that even though the King was brought to his knees, it doesn't make him weak, only battle worn. The Kingdom falls without the King, so the Queen fights.

I am that Valkyrie who gets in the trenches to fight beside my King. Not underneath, and not behind.
