1 child died after accidentally coming into contact with peanuts so schools became peanut free. 1 child died after being hit by a ball in the head at school, so now we contact parents for every head bump. Several children have died of Covid already and we do nothing…🤯

@rdumont99 When teachers are being denied testing, there is something seriously wrong with this system. If schools are so important to keep open, why are we not doing everything we can to keep them open safely? This would include prioritizing testing for staff?

@MerlinofCanada @bad_batch_rex This is beyond frustrating! We waited five days for a test for my daughter in Surrey. To see that they are only meeting half their testing capacity is so infuriating. Had we known sooner that she was positive, we may have tried to fully isolate her. Now our entire family is sick.

@tamarataggart This happened to us. We have been so careful for 22 months and then on Day 1 back to school after the Xmas break, my daughter is exposed by a close friend at school. By day 3 she was home with presumed COVID that we were finally able to verify this Sunday. Now 4/5 of us are sick.

So we now have 4/5 family members in my home with COVID. My 8 year old was up all night puking his guts out with a fever of 104. I have never dealt with such a scary fever, this is definitely not mild. So hard to parent a sick child when both parents are ill themselves.

@BCGovNews Given these case numbers mean nothing because no one can get a test unless they work in the film industry, it would be more helpful if you reported the % tests positive.

I don’t understand how DBH can say we are starting to see COVID cases levelling off. My daughter is home sick after being exposed to COVID at school and we can’t book a test anywhere. Restrict testing=no data, not sure we can then imply anything about case numbers.

Since CMOH seems to have decided that kids under 12 don't need a PCR test, I will say this:
A colleague swabbed 23 kids on a peds emerg shift. 22 were positive for Covid. If you think your child has Covid - they probably do.

Very simple plan...it is clear across the board that schools will NOT be informing anyone of any positive cases. They ask you not to inform them so here is what you need to do: IF YOUR CHILD IS POSITIVE OR PRESUMED TO HAVE COVID EMAIL US [email protected] 1/2
