According to this @UWaterloo study:
👉“The government has goals to improve housing affordability, but their programs give funding to organizations who eviscerate housing affordability…”

📢‼️EVICTIONS ≠ WELLNESS‼️
How can you claim to be a healthcare provider, offering a “welcoming, cozy environment” for your patients while trying to kick a family with children out of their home? 👇🧵👇

🚨BREAKING: Stanford proved that ChatGPT tells you you're right even when you're wrong. Even when you're hurting someone.
And it's making you a worse person because of it.
Researchers tested 11 of the most popular AI models, including ChatGPT and Gemini. They analyzed over 11,500 real advice-seeking conversations. The finding was universal. Every single model agreed with users 50% more than a human would.
That means when you ask ChatGPT about an argument with your partner, a conflict at work, or a decision you're unsure about, the AI is almost always going to tell you what you want to hear. Not what you need to hear.
It gets darker. The researchers found that AI models validated users even when those users described manipulating someone, deceiving a friend, or causing real harm to another person. The AI didn't push back. It didn't challenge them. It cheered them on.
Then they ran the experiment that changes everything. 1,604 people discussed real personal conflicts with AI. One group got a sycophantic AI. The other got a neutral one.
The sycophantic group became measurably less willing to apologize. Less willing to compromise. Less willing to see the other person's side. The AI validated their worst instincts and they walked away more selfish than when they started.
Here's the trap. Participants rated the sycophantic AI as higher quality. They trusted it more. They wanted to use it again. The AI that made them worse people felt like the better product.
This creates a cycle nobody is talking about. Users prefer AI that tells them they're right. Companies train AI to keep users happy. The AI gets better at flattering. Users get worse at self-reflection. And the loop tightens.
Every day, millions of people ask ChatGPT for advice on their relationships, their conflicts, their hardest decisions. And every day, it tells almost all of them the same thing.
You're right. They're wrong.
Even when the opposite is true.
My latest for @TorontoStar. Increasing surveillance and extending police powers doesn’t solve homelessness or drug use on transit — it merely opens up the broader public to arbitrary punishment, including the potential for jail time and $10,000 fines. https://t.co/pUOGJGJdNp
According to @fordnation, mental health and "addiction" cause homelessness — no acknowledgment that their policies are the largest contributor to homelessness in Ontario.
This includes Bill 60, which must be fought by tenants and municipalities alike. https://t.co/sJoB7G9Ysh
#BREAKING: Doug Ford is a jobs disaster — and now he’s coming for renters. Bill 60 will mean higher rents, mass evictions, and fewer affordable homes.
Families are already struggling. Ontario needs real rent control and more homes people can actually afford.
I will fight this bill tooth and nail.
The Ford government just introduced a bill that will make it easier for landlords to evict tenants.
Proud to stand today with housing advocates and tenant unions at their rally to demand a rent freeze.
Housing is a human right.
WATCH: Fresh off launching our NDP leadership campaign, I stood shoulder-to-shoulder with striking Canada Post workers outside a Liberal minister’s office.

Alberta’s teachers are on strike & they’re standing up for more than themselves. This fight is about every student & the future of public education.
As someone who’s spent a lifetime standing shoulder to shoulder with the working class - I’m with you. Keep fighting the good fight & never back down.

@torontolabour Silly question: can you please clarify the location of this event?
I get two different locations when I look up “German Mills Community Centre” (80 German Mills, Thornhill) and “101 Town Centre Boulevard” (Markham).
Thank you 🙏
>4,000 refugees are in Toronto's shelter system, yet Fed Gov’t plans to CUT supportive IHAP funding. This would result in mass homelessness & elimination of shelter space.

@leighbeadon@MayorOliviaChow Also, I imagine at least some people who live in encampments *are* families.
So anyone who lives in an encampment would be welcome to stay if they can point to at least one family member who also lives there 💁🏼♀️
Note: You don’t need to be blood to be family 😉
THE REPORT: Increases in oil & gas emissions are offsetting any other progress.
CARNEY: Let’s fast track LNG expansion.

Join us as we take the streets with over 20,000 labour members to honour the past, present and future victories of the Labour Movement at this year’s annual Labour Day Parade! https://t.co/Mtn2Na520r
Forced free labour is illegal, @PattyHajdu. This is a *commercial* airline among many — labour law doesn't exist to protect their profits. Legislating back-to-work and forcing binding arbitration shows no regard for workers, and they're right to fight back.https://t.co/dwQJ25MywZ
