Paxton aquitted: Easy to understand. @DanPatrick took $3 million from Paxton supporters then aggressivly put his thumb on the scale. He protected Paxton & his mistress from testifying, pressured the jury for a quick verdict by threatning them with sequestering them in the Capitol

The Texas House just voted to repeal the “tampon tax,” removing sales tax on menstrual products, diapers, maternity clothes and baby bottles.

Bill already cleared the Senate.

Rep. @DonnaHowardTX, who pushed this bill for years, noted it’s Period Poverty Awareness Week.

🧵 Today we #celebrate all workers who have made invaluable contributions to this nation today and every day. Thank you for your sacrifices, hard work, grit, and determination. 🇺🇸

[CynthiaForTexas @CynthiaForTexas]

🧵 The #Federal labor laws that protect workers today are because of the protests that occurred in 1894. The #PullmanStrike brought the economy to a standstill and spurred President Cleveland to make #LaborDay a national #holiday.

Austin ISD Families:
Because of flash flooding warnings, out of an abundance of caution we are delaying bus pick up for high schools until the storm passes. Parents are free to pick up their children from the schools.

[Austin ISD @AustinISD]

A causa de la advertencia de inundaciones repentinas, como medida de extrema precaución estamos retrasando la salida de los autobuses de las escuelas preparatorias hasta que pase la tormenta. Los padres de familia tienen la libertad de recoger a sus niños de las escuelas.

Words can’t describe how grateful I am for #RosedaleSchool, the community, & the experience it provided my extraordinary sister during her tenure in #AISD. School districts across the country should have a campus like #Rosedale as an option for parents.

Thank you #AISD!
