Taylor Swift talks about Sabrina Carpenter in tonight’s show of The Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon.
“The first thought I had was Sabrina Carpenter. She’s like the quintessential showgirl. She’s such a funny person, she’s so tough in the right ways and soft and vulnerable in the right ways to be an artist that is dealing with the kind of absolute mayhem that artists get subjected to when you’re putting art out publicly. And I was so happy that she wanted to sing that second verse because I kind of wrote it for her, she’s just sort of like, ‘She was a menace, the baby of the family in Lennox. Her father whored around like all men did[…]’ I just know she’s gonna have fun singing this, it’s kind of her type of lyrics. She just loves to write clever little jabs at men.”

Tonight all these lives converge here
The mosaics of laughter and cocktails of tears
Where fraternal souls sing identical things
And it’s beautiful
It’s rapturous.
It is frightening.
