Since my very first one, in 2014, I've always considered Bitcoin bear markets as challenging moments of crisis, reckoning, cleansing, refocusing, reassessing, learning trough suffering. But wow, guys, 2026 is BRUTAL!

The very cores of our shared subculture are:
- accessible self-custody,
- scaling trough interoperable offchain layers,
- uniqueness of the bitcoin asset.

The attack on CoinKite is being used to push the dishonest narrative of "the end of cold storage".

The attack on Boltz will be soon used to push the dishonest narrative of "the end of LN swaps".

Both are being and will be used to mock, discredit, diminish and defuse Bitcoin-only focus, pushing for "token" dilution again (just when the struggle against the shitcoin cancer seemed to be over, with the exception of "stablecoins").

The end of the BIP110 self-inflicted seppuku-wound next week, and some very likely destabilizing news about another beloved "OG" company, will complete the trial by fire.

Stay strong. Survive this year with as much of your principles, your stack and your anonset intact as objectively possible. The next phase will be stuff for history books, even more than before.
