52 χρόνια από την ολέθρια και αποφράδα ημέρα της τουρκικής εισβολής.

Θλιβερή επέτειος της περιφρονητικής και προκλητικής καταπάτησης της διεθνούς νομιμότητας, των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων και του συνόλου των κανόνων λειτουργίας της διεθνούς κοινότητας.

Μιας διαρκούς καταπάτησης, που πανηγυρίζεται και σήμερα χωρίς ντροπή από τον Τούρκο εισβολέα και κατακτητή. Ο οποίος πιστεύει ότι ο χρόνος και η δύναμη του ισχυρού, θα ξεθωριάσουν τη θύμηση, θα αδρανοποιήσουν το καθήκον μας και θα οδηγήσουν στην αποδοχή των τετελεσμένων.

Τελούν όμως υπό καθεστώς αυταπάτης.

Διότι η μνήμη είναι ζωντανή, όσο η κατοχή αποτελεί καθημερινό και οδυνηρό βίωμα. Διότι μας έχουν κληροδοτήσει οι πρόγονοί μας, οι πεσόντες και οι αγνοούμενοί μας, καθήκον ακλόνητο και χρέος βαρύ και ιστορικά εδραζόμενο.

Χρέος και καθήκον να απαλλαγούμε από τα δεσμά της κατοχής, να απελευθερώσουμε και να επανενώσουμε την Κύπρο μας.

Με απόλυτη και αποκλειστική προσήλωση στα Ψηφίσματα του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας του ΟΗΕ. Ως Κράτος Μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και καθοδηγούμενοι από το ευρωπαϊκό κεκτημένο και τις θεμελιώδεις αρχές, τις αξίες και τη νομοθεσία της ΕΕ.

Το «Δεν Ξεχνώ» δεν είναι σύνθημα, αλλά ο τρόπος επιβίωσης μας.

52 χρόνια μετά, η Τουρκία συνεχίζει να κατέχει παράνομα το 37% της πατρίδας μας, συντηρώντας ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα εγκλήματα της μεταπολεμικής ιστορίας της Ευρώπης.

Για 52 χρόνια αρνείται να δώσει απαντήσεις για την τύχη των αγνοουμένων, διευρύνει τον παράνομο εποικισμό, καταστρέφει τη θρησκευτική και πολιτιστική μας κληρονομιά και στερεί από όλους τους Κυπρίους το δικαίωμα να ζουν ελεύθερα στην πατρίδα τους.

Οι πράξεις της συνιστούν κατάφωρη παραβίαση του Διεθνούς και Ευρωπαϊκού Δικαίου, του Χάρτη των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, της κυριαρχίας, της ανεξαρτησίας και της εδαφικής ακεραιότητας της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, καθώς και των θεμελιωδών ελευθεριών και ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων όλων των Κυπρίων.

52 χρόνια μετά, η πληγή παραμένει ανοιχτή. Οι σειρήνες της τραγωδίας εξακολουθούν να ηχούν. Δεν ξεχνούμε. Δεν συμβιβαζόμαστε. Δεν αποδεχόμαστε τα τετελεσμένα.

Η μη λύση δεν είναι λύση. Δεν συμβιβαζόμαστε με τη διχοτόμηση. Στόχος μας είναι ο τερματισμός της παράνομης κατοχής, η απελευθέρωση και η επανένωση της πατρίδας μας.

Με οδηγό τη μνήμη και το δίκαιο, συνεχίζουμε τον αγώνα μας για μια βιώσιμη και λειτουργική λύση, βασισμένη στα ψηφίσματα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, στις αρχές, στις αξίες, στο δίκαιο και στο κεκτημένο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.

Φτάνει. Yeter. Enough.

A very useful and productive exchange of views on migration matters, tackling illegal smuggling networks and other related challenges.

The meeting reaffirmed the close and robust🇨🇾-🇺🇸 bilateral cooperation, in the context of our strategic partnership.

Συναντήθηκα σήμερα με τον Υφυπουργό Στρατηγικής, Πολιτικής και Σχεδιασμού του Υπουργείου Εσωτερικής Ασφάλειας των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών (Department of Homeland Security – DHS), κ. Rob Law @the_roblaw.

Επιβεβαιώθηκε ότι οι σχέσεις 🇨🇾 🇺🇸 βρίσκονται σε εξαιρετικό επίπεδο και η συνεργασία των δύο κρατών διευρύνεται συνεχώς.

Ενημέρωσα τον κ. Law για τη μεταναστευτική μας πολιτική και ανταλλάξαμε απόψεις σχετικά με την αντιμετώπιση των παράνομων δικτύων διακινητών και άλλων προκλήσεων που αφορούν στη μετανάστευση.

Συζητήσαμε, επίσης, για την προσπάθεια της Κύπρου να ενταχθεί στη Ζώνη #Schengen και το πρόγραμμα visa waiver.

Οι επαφές μας καταδεικνύουν ότι η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία αποτελεί πυλώνα σταθερότητας στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο και γέφυρα συνεργασίας μεταξύ Δύσης και χωρών του Κόλπου-Μέσης Ανατολής.

We marked the conclusion of the 🇨🇾 presidency of the Council of the EU with a reception last night at the residence, passing on the symbolic presidency baton from Cyprus 🇨🇾 ➡️ to Ireland 🇮🇪.

With the strategic vision encapsulated by "An Autonomous Union. Open to the World", the presidency @CY2026EU achieved concrete results in a wide range of policy areas for the benefit of all 🇪🇺 citizens.

Cyprus, through #CyprusAid, expresses its solidarity with Venezuela following the powerful earthquakes that struck the country.

In response to urgent humanitarian needs, 🇨🇾 is contributing €300,000 to UNICEF’s Global Humanitarian Thematic Fund, supporting relief efforts for affected populations.

International solidarity and humanitarian action remain fundamental principles of the Republic of Cyprus’ foreign policy.

A timely and very important Hearing was convened earlier today in Congress, by the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission and its Co-Chairs, Representatives Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Jim McGovern (D-MA), “Human Rights in Turkish-Occupied Cyprus: Erdogan's Record and Its Implications for the Ankara NATO Summit”. The Hearing began with briefing remarks by Ambassador Evangelos Savva, who highlighted the numerous human rights violations in Cyprus stemming from the Turkish invasion of 1974 and ongoing occupation since, of more than 36% of its territory while also tracing Turkey’s 52-year dismal record of flouting international law and United Nations Security Council Resolutions pertaining to the Cyprus Question. Witnesses Michael Rubin (Director of Policy Analysis, Middle East Forum), Sinan Ciddi (Turkey Program Director, Foundation for Defense of Democracies) Savas Tsivicos (PSEKA) shared in-depth insights on Turkey’s intransigent policy on Cyprus and its broader foreign policy impact in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Hearing also included remarks and questions posed to the three witnesses by Representatives Gus Bilirakis, Brad Schneider and Dina Titus, who underlined the bipartisan support in Congress towards Cyprus in its quest for a just and viable settlement in line with Security Council Resolutions while also focusing on the increased value of Cyprus as a credible and reliable partner of the US.

Cyprus welcomes the US-brokered framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon and commends the United States for its efforts in advancing this critical step.

Its effective implementation can further sustain de-escalation, restore security, and create the conditions for Lebanon's state institutions to fully exercise their authority and responsibilities throughout its territory.

By safeguarding the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity the agreement must be respected by all actors.

We were delighted to welcome to the Embassy, yesterday afternoon, students from the Sister Cities International Youth Leadership Program, accompanied by the leadership of @SisterCitiesInt.

Students learned about Cyprus’ rich history and cultural heritage, as well as its role in promoting peace, regional cooperation, and international engagement and undestanding.

It was a thrill to have hosted this event and see so many youngsters exhibit such keen interest in 🇨🇾 and our region of the world.
