Looking back on the cultural journey of the #CY2026EU Presidency, which brought to life Cyprus’ history, cultural heritage and contemporary creative scene.

From exhibitions and concerts to performances and creative encounters in Cyprus and more than 30 countries, the cultural programme celebrated the richness and diversity of Cypriot culture.

Delivered by the Deputy Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Cyprus Presidency, and made possible by more than 500 artists, cultural institutions and partners.

Six months ago, Permanent Representative Ambassador Christina Rafti and Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Giorgos Ioannides took their seats at COREPER II and COREPER I, for the first time as Presidency.

Now, both have held their final meetings under #CY2026EU.

Today, the Cyprus Presidency delivered on one of the key files of the ‘One Europe, One Market’ roadmap.

EU Ambassadors endorsed the agreement facilitating the e-declaration of posted workers.

Europe is removing barriers and creating a simpler, more transparent framework for cross border services that benefit workers, businesses and administrations alike. 🇪🇺

🚛 The Council and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on targeted amendments to the Eurovignette directive.

The agreement clarifies CO₂-based road charging rules for heavy-duty vehicles, strengthens legal certainty and supports a smoother, more harmonised implementation across the EU.

📌 DEAL

🧪 The @EUCouncil and the @Europarl_EN reached a provisional agreement to strengthen ECHA by improving its governance and funding.

The new rules will help the agency better assess and manage chemical risks, protect people's health and the environment, and support a more effective EU chemicals framework.
