Within the framework of the @CY2026EU of the Council of the EU 2026 our Embassy supported the International Festival of Ancient Theatre EX MACHINA held at the historic city of Plovdiv (Philippopolis).
This great initiative brought to life the timeless legacy of ancient theatre.

Our embassy hosted today in Sofia the fourth EU Heads of Mission meeting, within the framework of the @CY2026EU.
We had the honour to host former Bulgarian Prime Minister and Chairman of GERB (EPP), Mr. @BoykoBorissov.

On April 29, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Bulgaria, Mr. Haralambos Kafkarides, briefed scholars and alumni of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation in Bulgaria on the @CY2026EU. There was a highly engaging discussion offering a closer look at Cyprus’ role within the EU.

Our Embassy supported an event organised by “Hristo Botev” High school in Popovo, Bulgaria, by providing useful material regarding the @cy2026EUsec .
The school event was organised within the framework of the European Parliament Ambassador School Programme.

Within the framework of the @CY2026EU , we hosted today the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Mr. Andrey Gurov, who briefed EU Ambassadors on his Government's priorities towards the 19 April elections, as well as the Bulgarian positions during the last European Council.

The current agenda of the Cyprus Presidency on Transport and Telecommunications was presented by the Cypriot Ambassador.

The first EU Heads of Mission meeting was held today in Sofia under the EU Cyprus Presidency.
The Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Mr. Dimitar Radev, was the guest speaker.
He briefed the EU Ambassadors on the smooth process of the adoption of the euro.
