@dorganc@NiecyOKeeffe It’s legal here for the employer to request it. It’s also legal to fire an employee for being sick! Unable to fulfil their contract due to frequent absences.
@NiecyOKeeffe Mammy was very sick from when I was 8/10. By 10 I was ironing my school shirts. In 1983 I criticised how my them GF now wife since 1985 ironed. my shirt. She hasn’t ironed one since!
@NiecyOKeeffe Employers can request sick certs anytime. My contract of employment stated 70 days sick pay at the employers discretion. Mental health issues I was dragged to a company dr after 8 days. Told it was confidential to be presented with a form by Co Dr allowing him to give full info.
@NiecyOKeeffe It’s up to the employer here. Employer can ask for a sick cert from day 1. Only since 2023 are employers required to pay statutory sick pay. The max required is 70% of normal weekly pay €110 per day if less. Max 5 days calendar year. really vicious here.
@TweetingPriest Mmm. We have a friend a ‘retired’ missionary nun. I think I’ll investigate bringing her to Laudato Si village. It’s very much her mission type. Of course she doesn’t lie but her definition of retirement is very different to mine. 83 on Tuesday. Eye operation Thursday.
@mgtruth Johannesburg is 1750m above sea level. Mexico City 2240. About 500 meters in it. But I never heard rugby managers or players complain about altitude. Why wasn’t the England team on the plain to Mexico 10 minutes after their last match of the altitude is such a big thing?
@tinaaabean_ What astonishes me is that in the 200 + years of the US natural born citizen hasn’t been legally defined.
Arguably someone born by caesarean isn’t natural born.
