@elonmusk
Dear Elon,
In these critical days, the people of Iran need internet access. Please help them stay connected as they struggle to reclaim their country from the rule of the mullahs. Stand with the Iranian people. Iran will not forget its friends.
Congratulations to @Paula_M_Ludewig, @CyrusRezvanifar, @shouldergeek, @arinfinity8, and our collaborators in @BarocasLab on receiving a Faculty Research Dev Grant for their project “Subject-specific Rotator Cuff Treatment Planning.”
Lots still to come from our lab and @BarocasLab at #SB3C2021 today. Back for more, Dr. Middendorf presents “Local Tissue Heterogeneity surrounding Neurons may modulate their responses via altered Axonal Strain Fields” at 5:52 eastern in Mogul Madness room.
Get out to #SB3C2021 GatherTown and visit poster #56MS tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:30 Eastern as our recent Biomedical Engineering Master’s grad @MilesWing presents his outstanding work titled “FE modeling of the Long Head of the Biceps.”

@ManuelKRausch1 Oh I’m sorry to hear that! Feel free to stop by if you think talking about it from a scientific perspective will ease the pain a tiny bit :)
If you are attending #SB3C2021 and are interested in hearing and chatting about rotator cuff FE modeling and supraspinatus tendon, please stop by poster “265B” tomorrow (Wednesday) from 2:30-4:00pm ET. Looking forward to seeing you all!
@ManuelKRausch1 That’s interesting, I thought a variable would always be random if randomly sampled to represent the population and fixed if the factor levels are controlled in the study. Now I’m curious to read more on this!
WELCOME TO #SB3C2021!
We're very excited for the science ahead this week! Hope to see you all in the https://t.co/Bq8pAQaCfl world! https://t.co/w9ktTAlgBS
Don't forget to stop by and meet our Student Ambassadors, who will be manning the info desk in Gather.
I am currently looking for a PhD student to work on a computational and experimental biofluid mechanics project.
A BS or MS in mechanical or biomedical engineering is required, along with previous research involvement, preferably computational.
Looking for a postdoc? The Jolley Lab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is recruiting a postdoc with expertise in computational biomechanics to develop integrative image-based computational modeling of pediatric heart valves. [email protected], https://t.co/q8DUMQJxpY
@c_dejulius It is for sure annoying, but I think there is only so much room to paraphrase Methods before it becomes self-plagiarism, thus the citation of the old paper!
“Female BME students were observed to have lower self-efficacy in computer programming."
Check out our new paper in @ASMEJournals JBME for more details on project-based active learning and our discussion on self-efficacy across genders.

Emerson, my 11 year old, is on a bit of a wild ride with the @USPS and our local mail carrier, Doug.
And, I think there’s a deeper message to it all.
First, the backstory...
@JessicaLTami @AcademicChatter I look out of a window to a far distance, take a deep breath, imagine the next day with everything back to normal, and say to myself: this too shall pass! Best of luck with your defense! :)
Glad to announce that our most recent publication in @JBiomech is now available online.
In this study, we found superior thermal comfort when using phase change material (PCM) liners and a novel #prosthetic socket design with air circulation.
