A new coach came to Ithaca, a new chance comes to Trinity (Conn.) and the NESCAC, a new QB is coming to UWO, plus your Q's: How will CUW do in 2027? Will tech be more smooth in 2026? Which is the best mascot matchup? That and more in a new podcast. https://t.co/OL07XQcs7U #d3fb
@PitarresiSports Yes, all of those are true. I'm not sure I would say "never" but for sure, it doesn't appear it will change any time soon. The average #d3fb roster is between 105 and 110.
The NESCAC presidents don't want to talk about football so unless that group changes, it won't get dealt with. A roster of 84 doesn't provide as much depth as a larger one, but only 58 can suit up for a playoff game. Load management is key at any #d3fb program.
Some context on these #d3fb numbers from 2024-25.
The avg roster is 107 players, and they retain 66% of their roster per year. That means ~35 players are lost per year.
Total portal entrants (1,238) make up ~5 players per roster, w/ successful transfers (262) being ~1 player.
