This is really a sign of a deteriorating population more than anything. Most of the great men of history drank alcohol, it’s foundational to civilization.

This isn’t about getting wasted at the club and chasing women, though fun. Where men discussed philosophy, alcohol was there. Where politics were debated, alcohol was there. Congress should be required to slam three shots before entering the chamber, could you imagine? Couldn’t be worse than things are already.

Beer and mead were vital elixirs for warriors and athletes. This is the problem with biohackers and optimizers, they have no vocation, nothing to apply supposed health to. And this culture has become so pervasive it’s found its way to athletes and artists and everything is just lame now.

Every day someone thinks they’re making some groundbreaking proclamation “alcohol has zero benefits” as if fun isn’t real. As if calming the mind and lubricating communication doesn’t exist. You ever been 3 games of beer pong deep? You ever been that in the zone?

No curiosity in trying to harness that state. No desire to create something better. Someone is going to make gruit beer, without hops, rich in B vitamins, the worlds original workout supplement, completely change the game and make a killing.
