Thank you to the city staff and colleagues for their hard work and collaborative spirit and to former Councilmember Johnson for gracefully passing me the baton.
Today is my last day serving as your District 4 Seattle City Councilmember. I'm proud of the work my colleagues and I accomplished at my time here and the projects that were funded in the budget for District 4 and all Seattle residents.

“Carmakers that have chosen to be on the wrong side of history will be on the losing end of California’s buying power,” Governor Gavin Newsom said in a statement on Monday.

While we still need to watch the Court to ensure the standing of this program, my office worked to get $50,000 in funding for DACA renewal fees in the first balancing package.
Today the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on DACA, a vital program to about 700,000 young people in the US, about 7300 in the greater Seattle area. Since I've been on Council, constituents have asked me what we can do as a city to protect our neighobors.
We are proud to join w/ our friends & neighbors across #Seattle in proclaiming that #HomeIsHere! Whether you have #DACA or not, we know that undocumented immigrants have long contributed to the civic & cultural life of this city. You are #HereToStay & we support you!

I am always impressed w/the @OppScholarship scholars & their stories of triumph. We can & should do more to support kids in their educational pursuits. That’s why I’m working to have #Seattle be the first city in Washington State to participate in #WSOS. #iamopportunity

As a car-free Seattleite, I've been working to expand our transportation options, reduce congestion, and reduce carbon emissions. An e-scooter share program, accompanied with expanding our micro-mobility infrastructure, reaches these goals.
What a treat! DT light-rail stations will not close the weekend of 11/9 -11/10, because the temporary/new platforms at Pioneer Square are complete. Thanks @SoundTransit !
