Kitezi landfill is burning, polluting the air and endangering lives. Poor waste management is a global crisis, with landfills in India, Chile, and the USA also catching fire. We need better policies, recycling, and waste segregation before it’s too late.
#WasteManagement
Behavioral change and systemic solutions are critical for tackling the waste crisis. Let’s prioritize sustainable waste management to protect health, reduce emissions, and secure a cleaner future. #ActNow#wastemanagement
The primary agenda item at @COP29_AZ will be the negotiation and finalization of a new climate finance goal, replacing the existing commitment of developed countries to provide $100 billion annually by 2025.

United Front against debt: As we reflect on Thomas Sankara's legacy from the vantage point of 2024, it's important that while much has changed, the fundamental issues he raised persist. The debt burden continues to impede African development.

For decades, the @IMFNews and @WorldBank have trapped African nations in debt, putting repayments over progress. As climate impacts grow, these debts prevent vital investments in sustainable futures.
we demand #CancelTheDebt for a green, fair Africa. #80YearsAreEnough
Climate action shouldn't be held hostage by debt . A just transition starts with financial freedom because every dollar forgiven in debt can be a dollar invested in our planet's future

Linda Evelyn: According to Thomas Sankara, debt is neo-colonialism and a reconquest of Africa. Are there modern leaders or movements continuing Sankara's fight against financial control, and how are they working for climate and debt justice
today?
#80YearsAreEnough
Yesterday at Cavendish University, I spoke on climate debt, sharing how promises made before I was born are now coming with strings attached loans that weigh down our future. ‘Just as we pushed for action, we’ll push to cancel these climate loans. Together, we’re unstoppable.🌍
And definitely the first generation that can do something about it. Amidst this global crisis, we are being told to pay debts incurred by generations before we were born. Does this give hope?
