Phillips clean sweep celebrated 24 years this weekend, over two decades of environmental stewardship. Much appreciation to the East Phillips community, the city of Minneapolis, @MplsWard9 and all who come together each year to make our immediate surroundings cleaner!

The vitriol coming from the federal government against our Somali neighbors is deplorable and now, egregious overreach targeting our beloved Congresswoman. I am beyond disgusted, but one thing about CD5, we don't back down and we protect each other.

People Serving People has a new shelter affectionately named Belonging Place that will house 52 families at a time. PSP is Minnesota’s largest provider of emergency shelter and stabilization programs for families specifically and I’m grateful to be apart of their new milestone!

Hennepin's Housing and Redevelopment Authority approved its 2027 budget- it's expanding with no increase to the tax levy! As Chair of the county’s HRA, I’m proud of what we’re doing to preserve and create hundreds of units next year and support more families into homeownership.

Our local restaurants work hard to serve delicious food, and they don’t want to see any of it go to waste! During Food Waste Prevention Week, we’re partnering with restaurants to spotlight what they're doing to avoid food waste and share ways to make sure those delicious leftovers don't go to waste.
Support one of our partner restaurants this week! https://t.co/lj7NNBCvwS

ICYMI: The @Hennepin Board is considering an 8.15% maximum levy increase for 2027, largely reflecting cost shifts to local government and federal cuts. Decisions about next year aren’t finalized until December- see my latest newsletter for upcoming budget hearings to learn more.
