This week we approved our annual Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) funding that invests in local efforts to create the kind of commercial spaces and affordable housing we need. I’m excited to support all of these projects including The Ruckus by NDC and KMOJ Forever Home! ✔️
This weekend we held our second heart health walk! 4 miles of walking that started at Sabathani and took us through GFS and Powderhorn park. Thank you Sabathani for hosting us and grateful to everyone of varying abilities that joined! ♥️🚶🏾♀️
Today was the 3rd Annual Donut Day for graduating seniors at Roosevelt high! I met Khadra who is headed to my alma mater, St. Kate's, this fall. Appreciate the library staff for making this possible every year and to A Bakers Wife for the best donuts in D4.
It was an honor to gather at MAIC during Minnesota’s American Indian month to celebrate the incredible work of our partner clinics, community based organizations, aunties and elders advancing Indigenous and Black Women’s Heart Health ❤️
Thank you NENA for hosting the Nokomis East Community Forum! Our discussion included next steps for HCMC, resources for substance abuse, property taxes & recycling. Thank you to my colleagues @aurinmpls, @JamisonWhiting, and @ZaynabMMohamed for contributing to important updates.
.@HennepinHC is a vital institution and it is because of bipartisan support, strong legislative partners, employees, county leadership and community who showed up with the urgency required that our beloved HCMC remains open. So grateful for our IGR team for leading the charge!
Thanks to everyone who came out this morning to officially celebrate the opening of Cooper playground! Led by community, @MplsWard12 and funded with help from a youth activities grant from @Hennepin this playground will be around for years to come.
Our office was out today at the Indian Health Board’s American Indian Month celebration and resource fair, an annual gathering for celebration, ease and community wellness. Thank you to everyone that came out including local organizations who were present with resources.
Beautiful weather today made for a great start to monthly litter pick up across Lake Street. Thank you volunteers, @MplsWard9, Kali Pliego, and @AllinaHealth for your commitment to keeping the corridor clean. Please join us for future cleanups at some point this summer/fall! 🚮
Flowers to Hennepin board Chair @HennepinD2 for leading a thoughtful State of the County address. In spite of tremendous stressors impacting large counties, we appreciate a moment of reprieve to reflect on how we continue to transform essential local services for the better.
I joined an environmental justice bus tour led by local leader and friend, Roxxanne O'Brien. With nearly a dozen stops, we discussed and learned more about current and former sites of toxicity. I would highly recommend this tour, especially to my colleagues in public policy.

Whenever I get a chance to show the inner workings of Hennepin Healthcare, I do. Thank you @IlhanMN, @KatieJonesMpls, @go4esther, and I-35W bridge collapse survivor Julie Graves for joining us on a tour of HCMC, a hospital that is critical to all of us and this region of the U.S.
Honored to receive the Long-term Guardianship For The Community award by The Cultural Wellness Center School of Elders. This recognition is meaningful in so many ways. We must always center community well being, in addition to our own. Thank you for this heartfelt recognition.
Neighborhood Day is a big deal in our city. Saturday I popped into Seward Neighborhood Group and Prospect Park Association to share updates and hear about all the incredible work these communities are doing for our neighbors.
The D4 Team stopped by the annual Minnehaha Duck Race 🐥 where thousands of ducks race down Minnehaha Creek. It was packed with live music, local food stands, games and more! Thank you Field Regina Northrop Neighborhood Group for continuing the tradition!
Meet me at the market!
🥬🫑🥦🧅🧄 Today was opening day for the Midtown Farmers Market and it was packed! Special thanks to Corcoran Neighborhood Organization for all you do to bring the market to life, T.O.U.C.H Outreach for keeping Lake Street safe & all of our local farmers.
Outside of HCMC is a 24 hour vigil protesting closure of one of the most comprehensive hospitals in the Midwest. Federal disinvestment from healthcare is pushing hospitals to the brink. For the sake of residents across Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas & more-HCMC must stay open.
