@WelshRugbyUnion I don't recognise this sport anymore. If you're bent at the hip, leading with your head you're going to get a shoulder in the face. It's not a yellow in my book but I'm behind the times I guess. Come on Wales!!!
@FlyOnNo10Wall@dodgemeisterT Actually coal will never be made again. Not on this planet. Trees turned to coal until evolution brought along microbes that could eat at the cell walls of lignins thus allowing them to decompose and rot away.
@Peston Isn't it more like "we try our best to make financial promises but the Tories keep screwing up to such an extent that we have to occasionally write off perfectly good, well-meaning plans because we can't rightly choose an electric car if we can't even afford a car?"
@elonmusk@GeoffBeacon The EU would never do such a thing. It's not what the EU is for. To get sucked into this is to take part in Putin's anti-west game. Putin doesn't like the EU as he sees membership of it as a pre-curser to membership of NATO. So to destabilise the EU is to destabilise NATO.
@JamesCleverly@ukhomeoffice Right wing bollocks. Laws already exist for all of these things. He's just dog whistling. British society isn't being harmed by peaceful protest. The removal of your rights and freedoms is far, far worse.
@SlimmrockTV Yeah I've seen on other posts. Was it so noticeable? I guess it must've been. The last chapter of "The Secret Race" (later edition) brought all of this up after the Dr Ferrari case. There was a story recently about the Spanish Government wanting to destroy all the files.
He might just be right. The documents that were uncovered as part of the raids on the doctors and their storage facilities implicated in the Tour de France and Armstrong revelations all contained references to Spanish teams, footballers, and tennis players.
@Martin47513375@EDF975558824132 Good god man you're a different breed. We've been at crossed purposes for two nights. You're managing it once it's kicked off and I'm preventing it from kicking off. But I know your patch and we can't compare. Respect to anyone whose trousers have 'those marks on the knees'.
Well I'm watching horror unfold in Channel 4's To Catch a Copper and the guy with the glasses doing the review, saying "they're not using batons" "she's playing to the crowd" is as bad as the police if not worse than the officers getting it badly wrong. #channel4
@Martin47513375@EDF975558824132 If only you could debate without name calling you'd command a much higher degree of respect. The second you reduce yourself to name calling is the second that your whole argument loses all gravity, and what should be a worthwhile exercise becomes a schoolyard spat. Try harder.
@Martin47513375@EDF975558824132 It's curious that after some 10 or so posts where I have, at length, attempted to illustrate nuance within this situation, and the law, you now suggest I know nothing of nuance. I think Cipolla's law is the perhaps most relevant one here (You're going to have to google that too).
@Now_Jade_Brown Yup. Only a few of us noticed that it all started with a bus driver not liking the attitude of the mum and refused to change her £ note. He was no doubt hugely stressed (maybe biased?), she was stressed, baby was stressed. If driver changes £note nothing happens, nobody dies.
@Martin47513375@EDF975558824132 Not so. I'd have given her change for a tenner, or told the driver to sort the change (which btw he had) or risk a section 137. Nobody dies, a baby doesn't get gassed, peace prevails, no crime happens. Or we could do it your way and see babies gassed.
@Martin47513375@muso2003 You make an interesting point. I'm sure every woman carrying a baby gets on the bus each day thinking "how can I make some money out of being refused travel by clashing personalities with a bus driver and some poorly trained coppers whilst getting my baby gassed?"
@Martin47513375@EDF975558824132 No, I want some sort of situational management awareness trained into the police so that when such an incident presents itself, it becomes natural for officers to think "how can we sort this out before it escalates and that baby ends up traumatised and gassed". That's all.
@Now_Jade_Brown@WomensNotts I'm currently being piled on via another thread on this very subject. I've got 100 or so agreeing with you and I and two guys getting the crayons out and calling me woke.
@muso2003@biggerbil78 I was at the Met Police, the Military Police, the Military Court Service and North Yorkshire police for a number of years. Try again.
@metal4always@EDF975558824132 So you're ok with babies being caught in the 'cross-fire' of spray/gas and wrestled from their mother's arms over a £2.70 bus fare?
And you're ok with Ian the reviewer deciding she was "playing to the crowd" and wasn't really being hurt because "batons weren't being used"?
