And his work has seen him head a think-tank at Gambia University which analyses and debates policy. So, here’s his take on what should be done with African languages. They need to be cherished and promoted to become the continent’s official dialects. After all, Chinese don’t need to speak English to pursue a career in medicine, but people from Gambia and Rwanda do. He uses Swahili being taught in East African schools as an example to follow.

The result of neocolonialism is that foreign capital is used for the exploitation rather than for the development of the less developed parts of the world. Investment under neocolonialism increases rather than decreases the gap between the rich & the poor countries of the world.

MALCOLM X: ONLY STRONG AFRICA WILL GET RESPECT

The Chinese have long faced racism but they also now command respect. According to Malcolm X, they became strong under Mao Zedong and are now a force to be reckoned with - culturally, economically and militarily.

Malcolm X believed there was a lesson here for us Africans: unite! Just like the Chinese state could unite a population of over 1 billion, Africa needs a unified state to unite our growing population of over 1 billion!

Watch him make the point by explaining how a particular racist saying quickly fell out of use once the Chinese became powerful.
