Quick weekend read! Iโm excited to announce that the preprint for a major chapter of my thesis work is out on BioRxiv! In this study, we highlight the essential role that pyrimidine metabolism plays in promoting activity of the SaeRS TCS in Staphylococcus aureus! 1/3

Thank you to my colleague Won-Sik Yeo for collaborating with me on this project! Also thank you to @SBrinsmade for the amazing mentorship and support along the way! 2/3
Excited to convene the 69th Wind River Conference!! Always awesome science and great people. Keynotes: @DNAtransport@motile_microbe@joeBondyDenomy and Dr. Katherine Lemon (not on X). Join us, and please RT!
Had an amazing time at the 68th @WindRiverConf in Breckinridge, CO! As always, great science and great company! Shoutout to everyone that presented and an extra shoutout the #brinsmadelab representation!
Glad to see this one out in JBC! Thanks to @SBrinsmade and @DADiMaggioJr for their help deciphering the mechanism of action of our antivirulent, @carlamaduta for the Lactobacillus work and @Superantigens for encouraging my crazy ideas. Check it out: https://t.co/FmZpPt651w
Georgetown Biology representing at the ASM DC branch meeting! Zarrella and Brinsmade labs, and GU Biology alum Dr Zac Park! Great day of science and hanging out with friends and colleagues! @zanyzarr @ZachoryP@MarcellePhdBio@DADiMaggioJr@ASM_DCBranch@ASMicrobiology
Check out the preprint from the wonderful collaboration with @karine_dufresne and @Superantigens lab! We show that a small bioactive molecule inhibits TSST-1 production to prevent mTSS and further show the impact of the compound on SaeRS! Solid 2024 so far in the @SBrinsmade lab!
Hereโs our new preprint: we screened a library of small bioactive molecules for inhibition of TSST-1 to prevent mTSS. Great collaboration with @SBrinsmade lab to demonstrate the impact of the compound on SaeRS. Great start of 2024 in @Superantigens lab!
@SBrinsmade Enjoy your weekend, celebrate the fact that you made it through the submission, grant review, and all that life has thrown at you. Just know that we (the lab) are proud of all your hard work! #brinsmadelab#GoodVibesOnly
