In happier news, there was a tenor sax! Usually, the winds player has an alto, a bari, a flute, & maybe a clarinet.
There’s rarely a trombone in the orchestra.
Tenor range is often unfulfilled (the pianist and guitar or bass player try to fill it, but sometimes can’t).
