@bairdjulia @smh @theage At least one media outlet did interrogate the narrative. I commissioned and edited this piece https://t.co/QIpfW3iDuD

The lack of interrogation of Elle Macpherson's story of healing herself holistically from cancer is a failure of journalism, editing and promotion. I would have died if I'd ignored the science. My column for @smh @theage

I think there is enough information about perpetrators but not enough inertia to act in a meaningful way! Not enough commitment to change in a meaningful way and too much patriarchal hysteria about women lying about DFSV - and the push for to get ‘over it’ in court systems

@lissijean @Delta Dang lol. One I heard was about Muhammad Ali. The stewardess asked him to put his seat belt on and he replied superman don't need no seatbelt to which she replied superman don't need no airplane either lol

[Natalie Page @NataliePage]

This is a problem also perpetuated within family court proceedings. If a survivor does not fit the stereotypical image a professional holds of what the typical victim looks like, their experiences are invalidated.

4 women in Australia died on the weekend. 2 allegedly killed by male partners & 2 allegedly killed by their sons.

Women’s lives matter.

How many times should communities take to the streets to demand action?
Yes, we have seen increased national & state based commitments in recent months but let’s be clear - these steps are a start but funding & actions commensurate with the scale of the crisis are desperately needed.

As a country we cannot became desensitised to the regular killing of women by men’s violence.

❤️SHE MATTERS: UNNAMED WOMAN!❤️

On June 1, a 36-year-old unnamed mum-of-three was in Darwin to attend sorry business following the death of a relative some weeks earlier.
That evening, her partner allegedly ended her life. Not only is he accused of murdering the woman, he's also charged with raping her.
She is the 40th Australian woman killed this year and she was the first of four women killed over the weekend of June 1-2.
As I write, a total of 43 women have been lost to violence in 2024.
The woman had travelled to the Darwin suburb of Coconut Grove from her homeland of Maningrida.
The woman was a respected, valued and loved community member and also training in the ADF's North West Mobile Force.

RIP UNNAMED WOMAN! ❤️

I document ALL unlawful deaths of women and children, regardless of perpetrator gender or relationship between the person killed and the accused. This means not every death is due to domestic and family violence. Australians are also killed by strangers, friends, colleagues, neighbours and other people known to them.

This is a Male problem, pls stop trying to deflect to women.
Women don't need to be re-housed they need the male arrested and charged ,tried in a woman friendly Court and woman friendly legal system.

We are faced with death of women at the hands of men.
NOT misdemeanours like littering.

STOP STALLING PROTECT THE VICTIMS ARREST PERPETRATORS

[Sherele Moody (Femicide Researcher) 🌈 @ShereleMoody]

For the second time today, I am recording the murder of another Australian woman - yet again at the hands of another Australian man.
A 78-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Gordon, ACT, this morning.
Her husband has since been taken into custody and is assisting police with their investigation. He has not been charged but police have confirmed the woman was allegedly murdered.
She is the 41st woman killed this year and the second woman killed in the past 48 hours.
Of the women killed this year, all but one have been lost to acts of male violence and almost all have known their alleged killer.

‘We were ignored by five different male officers across three occasions of reporting.

By that point we felt completely helpless.
I did everything I could to protect my mother, and when my father couldn't find us he murdered her best friend and her best friend's daughter.’

♥️SHE MATTERS: JENNIFER & GRETL PETELCZYC! ♥️

May 24, 2024: Jennifer & Gretl Petelczyc were killed yesterday in Floreat, Western Australia. The man who ended their lives killed himself. Jennifer and Gretl are the 37th & 38th Australian women killed in 2024.

[MFWitches @MFWitches]

Another 2 women killed because of outrageous, horrific men’s violence.

These 2 weren’t even the partner or ex-partner of the killer, but her friends, proving women aren’t safe even just being adjacent to intended victims.

We’re all potentially in the line of fire of this extreme, unrelenting hatred of women.

When will it fucking end?

Australia has a huge problem: James Harrison murdered an innocent & defenseless 2 year old boy, dear sweet Rowan. He had a history of domestic abuse. The himpathy is disgusting. What the hell is wrong with you?

This is everything that is wrong with the culture. You don’t get to memorialize a man who chose to cause maximum devastation to a woman by murdering her baby boy.

This was about control & an act designed to punish Dr Sophie Roome. Do better. Stop the himpathy to male murderers. It’s disgusting & totally inappropriate 🛑
