DAY6 Young K promoted to become a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA)

"DAY6 Young K has now become a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association. The KOMCA announced on its official website on the 29th a list of 30 people promoted to full members for 2026.

The KOMCA, which entrusts and manages the copyrights of domestic music creators, selects full members every year from among associate members based on comprehensive considerations such as the period of membership and copyright royalty performance in accordance with the association's regulations. Members from all genres are eligible, including popular music, children's songs, religious music, and pure music.

The list of full members promoted this year by the KOMCA includes representative music creators who possess popularity and artistic quality, such as DAY6's Young K (Kang Young-hyun), I-dle Yuqi (Song Yuqi), singer-songwriter Stella Jang (Jang Seong-eun), and Bae Chul-soo.

DAY6 member Young K (Kang Young-hyun) is the music creator who led DAY6's musical color and expanded the band's music to the general public by writing and composing the team's representative songs such as 'You Were Beautiful', 'Time of Our Life' and 'Welcome to the Show'. DAY6 has enjoyed great popularity with their self-composed songs, and Young K is the first member to be promoted, officially acknowledging his creative achievements that he has steadily built up alongside his singing career. 🐻 "starting in late 2017, honestly things were really tough. even being on stage itself started to feel like hell. there were so many ups and downs and the atmosphere within the team gradually started to get worse. but it was a time when we were all sensitive and extremely busy, so we didn't really talk much. and in a way, i think that made things deeper. it wasn't so much that we grew distant, but rather that we were trying to be more considerate of each other. because of that, there were even more things we couldn't talk about. it was like when someone was struggling, we didn't really know how to give comfort to each other. that's kind of what it was like."
