As #Dazzle4Rare2026 week wraps up, we just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part—from patients and advocates to allies cheering us on. 🦓
Spotlighting rare diseases takes all of us coming together, and you showed up in full force this week.
Remember that this event exists to help #raredisease messages reach further and wider than they can on their own by leveraging our collective reach.
I tell 10 people, you tell 10 people, etc. That concept just makes it digital!
Poat in your groups. Tell people about it.
D4R 2026 is officially done.for 2026.
Some may know that this year looked very different. We did not have past capacity for the usual outreach, organising and chasing up messages. (Cont)
But the core elements remain:
Mark your calendar for the 2nd week of August every year.
Follow #Dazzle4Rare and share posts from others to help them reach more people.
Join the closed FB group for access to Canva templates, content, and collaboration.
And the practical bit?
You might gain a new follower. Find a new community. Reach someone who needed to find you. Make a useful connection. Learn something you didn't know. Or help someone else get seen.
That's the point.

MYTH 5: “We have to be a rare disease organisation.”
FACT: Nope. Individuals, carers, families, disability communities, chronic illness communities, clinicians, researchers, allies and organisations can all #Dazzle4Rare .
MYTH 4: “It's just awareness for awareness's sake.”
FACT: D4R helps people find each other. That can mean a newly diagnosed person finding a community, an organisation gaining a new supporter, or two groups discovering they have something important in common.

MYTH 2: “We have to create loads of content.”
FACT: Absolutely not. Share something you've already made. Repost someone else's work. Wear your community colours. One post counts.
