A conversation that occurs whenever I’m on service and a patient needs a certain med:
Me: I have an idea…
Pharmacist: Does it involve raiding a pharmaceutical drug supply warehouse to get the medication for the patient?
Me: No….
@IdVilchez Literally just did a moderate dive into the literature for both doxy and azithro in lieu of tetracycline and clarithromycin. There seems to be enough data that that tetra and clarithro should be retired or at least doxy and azithro as viable substitutes
@transplnt_mdphd It fulfills the basic needs of the manual one, but does it in much, much less time. Making pasta used to take a chunk of the day if I did it for a dinner party, but with the KitchenAid I can do it in about 2 hours. If I’m doing a dinner for 2, likely an hour.
@rheum_cat I think it also depends on how, what, and who you engage with. I think there are fruitful ways to be online that avoid the toxicity as it currently stands while still having a distinct voice that expresses you interests and not just posting or reposting pablum.
I’ve realized I give enough articles to my fellows. I’m now going to give them movie assignments with movies from my collection to fill their essential gaps in cinema.
