@TheArch3rTaylor i think there's a lot of that, too!! and people being forced into a sort of "second round" of parenthood as grandparents/other kinship types, and they're just... tired. and they don't have the energy to do what the child needs because they're past the phase in life where they can

@TheArch3rTaylor i just can't imagine complaining about that unless they were causing harm to the area (screaming, fighting, something like that)
@TheArch3rTaylor and i feel that the increase in the insular mindset has only exaggerated the problems that inattentive parenting bring. (i also personally feel that inattentive parenting is now more frequently being pared with a passively enabling quality that's done nothing but harm)
@TheArch3rTaylor there's absolutely been a societal shift in "our" overall expectations for public spaces! "we've" just become increasingly and excruciatingly insular and exclusionary, which is manipulating how we perceive uncomfortable things/people/feelings.
@TheArch3rTaylor that being said, i do still believe that it's awful that we don't have many, if any, free third spaces for that age range. it drives me insane that it seems we're all eternally doomed to pay for the mistakes of our predecessors!
@TheArch3rTaylor so many of today's youth are dysregulated and have zero tools to deal with any of their emotions in a healthy way. i've witnessed so more property destruction in the last 5 years of working in schools than i or my peers witnessed as we went through grade school.
