I appreciated the enthusiasm from everyone following along on this project. The tutorial is up and ready. Tons of pictures on this one.
Let me know what you think!

I inserted the map board into the frame and anchored it into place. I also installed a couple French cleat sections to the top of the frame to make it easier to hang. I'll post some final pictures of it installed on the wall soon!

Implemented a bright idea for the wall map yesterday. The RF receiver let's me control the lights (on/off, brightness, mode) with a remote, and the RF signal works through the plywood, unlike an IR remote which requires line of site.

I added a subtle chamfer, stained, and then put the first couple coats of a satin finish on the frame. The next step will explain that thicker than necessary back frame.

Have you ever built a clock?
As promised, here are a few pictures of the shop clock I just finished. I'll post some better pictures and the tutorial for this project sometime next week.

I just finished up this project. It's a functional clock now! As long as you're okay with it being 5 o'clock no matter the hand position.
I'll post a finished picture or two tomorrow. Tutorial and more pictures coming next week!
So many layers of packing and masking tape, but this is really starting to look like a thing now. Next: Finishing up the hour and minute hands and applying a few coats of poly before I add the clock hardware.
It's always 5 o'clock in the shop!
