Today we played around with a camera setup for our new stereo microscope. While there is certainly room for improvement, we were thrilled to be able to finally capture our beautiful insects.

@neolycus We just connected a camera for our Leica 205C, nothing fancy. We will try to get a new camera and play around with the light and camera settings 😄
@Jeep4byFour Sounds very interesting. We are already familiar with photo recognition and machine learning to ID. It seems that there is still a lot of work in training the algorithms. Especially because many of the insects we are working with are poorly known and resemble each other 🐝😅
Last Friday we celebrated a major accomplishment - the completion of sorting out insects from 168 sweep net samples with a worthy amount of grass seeds. The samples were collected in 42 whole-year grazed sites across Denmark. They bugged us for more than a year.
