@keithjones84@MerseyHour I knew several people that worked there. As already mentioned in the comments the building was designed to be used as a hospital should Girobank fail. (Stamp issued in 1969, part of a set celebrating post office technology.)
@oldpicposter I visited the Calf of Man once from Port Erin (I think you mentioned you've been to the Calf too) difficult place to get to because of the sea conditions even on a calm Summer's day but well worth the effort.
@oldpicposter@manticore12345 Love the Isle Of Man. Haven't been for a long time. I've got a big collection of their stamps, they're very good at promoting their island. This set from 1992 features Manx harbours, the third one down featuring Port St Mary.
@oldpicposter Great photo. I remember that pub well. I got sent to London on a course in Bruton St in the early 80s. Very well to do area. Berkeley Square around the corner were a nightingale sang according to the song! 😀 I think the old Queen Mother was born in Bruton St.
@MerseyHour Canning Dock on a hazy Summer's day in June 1986. 40 years ago!! A few weeks after the first all Merseyside FA Cup final and just before Maradonna's 'hand of god' goal KO'd England. Doctor & The Medics topping the charts with Spirit In The Sky. 🎶

@MsPocketRocket Boys From The Blackstuff 👍. Yosser Hughes was one of the iconic characters of the 80s. When actor Bernard Hill passed away a few years ago someone put this notice outside a house in Kelvin Grove Liverpool, the filming location for Yossers flat. 🙏
