The Culture Makers Project graduates are converting community knowledge into sustainable revenue streams. Our program gives them exactly what they need: capital readiness, direct funding connections, a network that sees their cultural specificity as a strength, not a risk.

This moment requires coordinated advocacy, policy discipline, and community-led development models. As both a CDC and CDFI, Dorchester Bay is advancing a 360° strategy that protects affordability and stabilizes neighborhoods.
The housing crisis demands coordinated, systems-level action. The @bostonfdn@BosIndicators 2025 Housing Report Card lays out the stakes: costs outpacing wages, demand outpacing production, and a widening divide between who remains and who is displaced...

The report also points toward the reforms required across the sector: streamlined permitting, zoning modernization, coordinated state-municipal policy alignment, and new capital approaches that can sustain affordable housing development at scale.
The @EversourceMA Community Impact Grant expands our capacity to preserve affordability, fuel local ownership, & widen economic opportunity across communities we serve. Their investment aligns with our effort to build resilient, community-rooted pathways to long-term stability.
We're not aware of any official plan to require households to reapply for SNAP. Any change to the application process would require Congress to amend existing law. Most households need to submit info every 6 months to maintain their benefits, but this is NOT a reapplication.
We showed up at @masscdcs Annual Meeting alongside community development leaders committed to solving some of the toughest challenges facing our neighborhoods. We were especially proud to cheer on our teammate Andrealis Martinez, honored with a Rising Star Award @fairmountcollab!
@dbedc We're incredibly thankful for Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation's efforts to support our community and address food insecurity with compassion and dedication.

No one knows when partial #SNAPbenefits will land.
Small businesses are already feeling the shortfall.
This is a serious disruption destabilizing the small businesses that anchor local food access.
