“FIFA can confirm that approximately 60 FIFA World Cup 2026 fans received a communication on Wednesday, 3 June regarding tickets that had been allocated at no charge (0 USD) due to a prior payment issue during the checkout process. The tickets requested by these fans remain reserved, and the affected fans have been invited to complete payment of the correct amount. FIFA regrets the error and any inconvenience caused.”
Anyone with any knowledge of English football history will know that it is ridiculous for Southampton’s chief executive, Phil Parsons, to claim that their expulsion from the Championship play-offs is a bigger punishment than the 30-point deduction imposed on Luton Town in 2008 which led to relegation and almost throttled the life out of the club. Absolutely no comparison and completely weakens Southampton’s attempted argument that being thrown out of the play-offs is “manifestly disproportionate to every previous sanction in the history of the English game”.
There is some good stuff in Parsons’ statement: accepting culpability for Spygate, apologising to those clubs they spied on and apologising to their fans “whose extraordinary loyalty and support this season deserved better from the club”. Well said. But… the rules changed since Leeds United’s “similar offence” in 2019, there is no right to the £200m (it’s not a fine), and to play the whataboutery game and make the comparison with the Hatters is, fittingly, mad. Southampton’s reputation is certainly damaged but at least their very existence is not at risk. #SaintsFC #LTFC
🇳🇱 What a tribute… Carla, a laundry worker for 27 years at Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles, was honored with a tifo and pre-game presentation last night, before she retires at the end of the season 👏
Sometimes football is brilliant 🥹
@Blesing_Andrew It’s not just Brighton doing that to you, it’s everyone, you just keep wanting Brighton players. When your top 10 looks like this you aren’t getting anyone at a good price. No sign of Brighton on this list either…
Anywhere else on the pitch, the ref gives this every single time. Not a fan of Bothroyd, but Dermot Gallagher has a great skill of being the most unlikeable man in every conversation he’s in.
🗣️ "That's why I'm a referee and you're not"
🗣️ "I actually think it's a foul by Rodri"
Jay Bothroyd and Dermot Gallagher clash when discussing Rodri's claim for a penalty after a tackle from Elliot Anderson in the closing stages.
@LutonTown It don’t get much better than that!!
Great window full of gnarly trades.
Now’s the time to kick some ball.
Get out onto that field like it’s a brand new dawn.
It’s time, for the hats to shine.

@___GJS___ Hold on Graham, I’ve just had an idea/brainwave and it’s genius….
4 (FOUR) more strikers. Not just any strikers either, unfit ones, injured even. I’m emailing the club as we speak, thank me later. Bookmark this for when we secure 08th place come May.
@KieraDiss@GNev2 Whilst I agree it’s not “fair” that HMRC doesn’t see that money, why does it fall on one investor to pay HMRC? You literally say “investors won’t get there money back”, he is one of those people. Then you say he should pay the HMRC bill. Not sure of the logic here.
Good lad Archie, don’t suppose he can bat and has an English grandparent by any chance?
This post is just another reason why cricket is so great, wouldn’t see this in many other sports 🏏
This is Archie.
Archie was diagnosed with a heart condition at birth, and underwent open-heart surgery at three months old. He has since undergone four heart surgeries, and 17 surgeries in total.
In 2018, he was named honorary co-captain of the Australian cricket team as they took on India. Archie was granted his dream by Cricket Australia and the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity.
Despite being a proud Australian, he has a soft spot for the Barmy Army and spent some time in our section, surrounded by members who welcomed him in with open arms!
Archie, you are an inspiration to us all ❤️
I have now submitted a complaint to Ryanair. When I finally boarded the flight last night - after paying the £75 "fine" - I received a round of applause from my fellow passengers. However the experience was truly appalling. The fact that a Swissport checkin agent in a Grinch sweater could deliberately cause such mayhem, delay the boarding of the already delayed flight, call for police intervention and require my wife and I to wait right to the end of the boarding process under police supervision, is reprehensible. And, so far, despite over 50,000 views of this post, not a single word of response from Ryanair.
