Today, UNICEF USA designated the City of Houston as the 1st city in the US to become a Candidate for UNICEF Child-Friendly City recognition. This designation reaffirms Houston’s dedication to placing the needs of children first.😊😊👏👏👏
Legacy is part of our commitment as a host city for the 2026 @FIFAWorldCup. Today, it was great to see Houston announced as the first @unicef Child Friendly City in the USA. Proud to have played a small role in this and incorporating the sport of soccer into the initiative.
Through the two-year journey of becoming a Child Friendly City candidate, Houston has reaffirmed its dedication to prioritizing the needs of children and youth, uplifting and listening to their voices and advocating for their rights.
