We are deeply saddened to learn of Cimo’s passing.
Cimo’s love for trading card games was evident in everything he created. He helped bridge communities, championed the genre he loved, and introduced countless players to new games and experiences, including ours.
TCGs are better because of the passion, kindness, and enthusiasm he shared for them.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the many fans and creators who are grieving this loss.
Kazuki Takahashi brought joy to millions of individuals through his passionate dedication. He accomplished what every artist dreamed; creating art that withstands the test of time. His name will be echoed throughout the annals of history for his influential contributions.
R.I.P.
Playing a deck with a bunch of decision trees doesn’t mean it’s good.
Take Teemo for example, you play out of your mind after reading a novel on how to play him and lose.
Luck is a factor quite often heavily overlooked. Even in cases of extreme effort, many times, luck plays such a large role. The longer you are involved, the more you prepare, while leaning into keeping a curious open mind could greatly increase the math that luck might show up.
To be blunt, today didn’t go the way it should have, and we’re working with our partners to make it better going forward.
I wish we could get in everyone who wants to compete. The reality is, even if everything had gone perfectly, demand still would have (far) outpaced supply by nearly 5 times. That’s going to continue to be a challenge for future events.
We’re building something new for us with these events and trying to grow it responsibly. We’ve been pushing up event capacity and we’re going to keep doing that as long as we can still deliver a great competitor and attendee experience. We’re working on dialing in everything from round times, judge training, and more to make sure we can accommodate even bigger events. We’ll also continue to add non-competitor badges to bring in more of the community. We’ve got work to do.
Lastly, we see the concerns about reselling. We don’t have a handle on how big a problem it is, but we do have measures in place to prevent reselling. If someone offers to sell you a tournament badge, please DO NOT BUY IT. If your name doesn’t match the name on the order, you’ll be denied entry. We’re looking hard at how to crack down on it even further, and how we scale up access without compromising the event itself.
This isn’t solved yet, but the team is all-in to get this right.
AJ Lee on how her and CM Punk got together
“He’s saying something about that he knows he’s never getting married. A weird voice in my head went you’re going to marry me and I was like bitch who was that?”
(What’s your Story?)
@FarfaYGO Was my first real deck. Out of school first job was able to afford and follow meta, and consistently play. Was my first deck I had success with, made/bought myself and hold alot of nostalgia from playing it at my first locals that led to a solid friend/testing group.
I will be donating $1500 of my YCS prizing to giveaway 10 budget decks to players that need it. Yugioh has blessed me with its new amazing YCS prizing so I’d love to give back to the community that has given me so much.
I will take this EXACT same card for card $150 budget deck to a regional to prove that it can win for budget players out there.
If you are a vendor willing to trade bulk staples/cores in exchange for YCS/Reg prizing/packs let me know below. If you are a content creator willing to donate a few cores with me please let me know below. If you or someone you know is going thru it in life right now & would love to play what is the best format in yugioh (don’t listen to the doom and gloom) let me know or DM if you don’t want your business out there.
Things will get better I promise. Keep working hard and it will turn around for you, as it has for me. God blesses you when he sees you working hard, not when you’re lazy. Keep working and it will turn around. I promise
