POP have finally replied to an enquiry about Kai. Now is the time to suggest they contact Ocean Studios in Vancouver and not Crunchyroll because the latter will not give POP the dub we want. POP can be reached at [email protected]#ReleaseOceanKai#OceanKai
@JArtdude There is technically an Ocean dub of GT, it was just recorded at their Calgary-based sister studio Blue Water rather than in Vancouver, although the plan was originally to record it in Vancouver
Want to see the Blue Water dub of original Dragon Ball looking and sounding better than ever before? Now's your chance. Loved the work Seed of Might did on Westwood Z? You'll love their work on Blue Water Dragon Ball

It is with great sadness that we have just got the news the Ocean dub actor for Cell, Dale Wilson has passed away. A wonderful man according to all who knew him, and a legend in the Vancouver acting industry. May he RIP
@oceandan93@JArtdude@IanJames007 That is correct. Richard Ian Cox has almost never acknowledged it, but like Ocean Kai in general him being cast as Goku has long been an open secret.
I wish he would do some lines at cons though, even just to give people an idea how his Goku sounded.
@oceandan93@JArtdude@IanJames007 That is so cool. We know Kirby Morrow auditioned and the producers said he was "too cool" to play Goku, but it would have been interesting to hear whatever Ian Corlett could cook up with more experience and better scripts
@JArtdude@IanJames007 Ian James Corlett is a great actor. I would have liked to see him as Goku more. It probably could have happened if Ocean paid him better, as he was contacted about reprising the role when the Westwood dub originally went into pre-production
@JArtdude@unscathedArt Regarding whether or not an uncut version was produced.. that is not clear. There was reportedly talk of both cut and uncut but its never been stated whether the latter was done. I asked Karl Willems in a livestream but it's been so long, he doesn't remember
@JArtdude@unscathedArt Ocean did indeed dub episodes 1-98 of Kai, but not The Final Chapters. The scripts are likely very faithful too assuming they were written by the same people who wrote the Blue Water dub scripts (which is possible, as both dubs are Ocean Studios productions)
