With President of the #Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, currently on India visit, held a bilateral meeting, with discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding India- #Switzerland partnership in science, technology, research and innovation. Reference also came up of the highly fruitful meeting that President Guy Parmelin had with Prime Minister Sh @narendramodi on the first day of his visit yesterday.
The delegations from the two sides also joined. Letter of Intent between the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Department of Science & Technology (DST), and the Implementation Agreement between the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and DST have been finalised.
The Swiss side was highly appreciative of India’s expanding S&T priorities in biotechnology, vaccine development, genome sequencing, quantum technology, space and deep ocean research, as well as the emerging opportunities in blue economy and bio-economy. The cordial relationship between India and Switzerland makes it easier for the two countries to collaborate at different levels for a sustained engagement in areas of mutual interest.

Simultaneous launch of month-long "Special Swachhata Campaign 6.0" in Ministry of Personnel, Ministry of Science & Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences. More than 100 science institutions, equal number of big and small science establishments, in addition to more than 200 IMD establishments across the country participating in the campaign.
In the last five such special campaigns over the last five years, ₹5,102.91 crore has been generated through disposal of e-waste and scrap, while more than 1,049.54 lakh square feet of office space has been cleared and put to productive use. More than 180.48 lakh files have also been closed or weeded out and 24.20 lakh cleanliness sites identified and cleaned across the country.
Swachhata campaign, launched by PM Sh @narendramodi from the ramparts of Red Fort in 2014, instantly turned into a mass campaign... a collective effort towards a cleaner , healthier #SwachhBharat.
My Address at the “Aarogya Shikhar Samman” awards function felicitating distinguished medical teachers and medical professionals, #Jammu.
Key Takeaways:
“The world is entering an exciting phase of medicine with emergence of new technologies and new possibilities in health care. And, India is poised to globally lead the next generation of medical practices.
However, the challenge would be to achieve an optimum synergy between technology-driven practices and clinically determined practices. Caution is needed against a possible situation where excessive dependence on technology could undermine the clinical sense of a doctor, because, while technology-enabled options should not be left unavailable, clinical judgement must remain an essential component of patient care.
There has been a rapid secession of India's bio-technology breakthroughs and a growing support for life-sciences research, ever since PM Sh @NarendraModi took over. Interesting new areas are being explored like, for example, Nano-Insulin for oral use”.
Some more Award presentation images from the “Aarogya Shikhar Samman” organised by “International Medical Sciences Academy”, J&K Chapter, at #Jammu, featuring the “Atreya Varishtha Chikitsa Shikshak – Distinguished Medical Teachers & Specialists” Awards.
A wonderful occasion celebrating excellence, dedication and lifelong contribution to medical education and healthcare.
Arrived at Royal Park, #Jammu, for the “Aarogya Shikhar Samman” organised by the “International Medical Sciences Academy” J&K Chapter.

#French Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space, Prof Philippe Baptiste, currently on India visit, called on accompanied by a high level delegation.
The long-standing relationship between the two countries provides an opportunity to build a larger ecosystem by bringing together governments, research institutions, industries and StartUps.
India-France Space cooperation is as old as the two countries’ respective Space agencies, with the partnership progressing from sounding rocket experiments in the 1960s to present-day human spaceflight. Megha-Tropiquesand SARAL, jointly built by #ISRO and CNES, as well as cooperation in launch vehicle engine development, are some of the milestones of this enduring partnership. The realisation of the third joint satellite, TRISHNA, is also progressing well.
In the wider context, India-France scientific cooperation exists spanning biotechnology, digital sciences and technologies and ocean sciences. There is continuing engagement through institutions and mechanisms such as CEFIPRA and Indo-French joint centres.
Also complimented the French Minister for the successful conduct of the recently held "International Space Summit" which carried a virtual message from Prime Minister of India, Sh @narendramodi.
