And we wonder why no one wants to become a teacher:
*Having no voice even as an expert
*Working excessive hours unpaid
*Limited resources
*Navigating bureaucratic hurdles
*Dealing w/ disruptive behavior
*Lack of respect/recognition
*Unrealistic expectations
*Burnout

Teachers canβt run 1-1 therapy sessions in mainstream classrooms after every behaviour incident AND still teach stuff.
Over 90% of Finnish teachers remain in education for entirety of career. How? Teachers are respected as professionals, given adequate time for planning during the school day, and more autonomy in school decisions. Maybe that's why we lose nearly 50% of teachers every 5 years!
