@RicBucher If a star player see that the organization has a clear path on using the money left on the table to improve the team and win a title then I don’t see how it’s somehow pressuring other players to take a paycut especially since not all franchise players play for competent teams
@RicBucher Brunson didn’t really take a paycut, he left money on the table to lock in a year of not having to worry about free agency and continue to build a title contender - that’s a difference. You see that for a bunch of winning teams that use the salary cap across all sports
@RBPhillyTake Definitely not the case…Doc and clips said numerous times that they wanted to keep SGA but Kawhi forced the Clippers hand to trade for PG or else he would sign with the Lakers. OKC knew that and used that as leverage while LAC received the two best two-way players in their prime
@BenRitholtzNBA I think wolves sitting Naz, Ant and Randle in the beginning of the 2Q had as much if not bigger impact for that Knicks run than the one big lineup the Knicks ran. Twolves couldn’t create a shot to save their life during that stretch
