I don't know who needs to hear this (me), but your work doesn't have to be revolutionary in order to make a difference, and even if it helps one person, it is absolutely worth it.

This was the start of a players pro career. He broke 70 once in those 42 rounds, shot over 80 five times.
Justin Rose will play in his sixth Ryder Cup this week.
"While calculus is important for certain STEM majors, such as engineering & physics, other advanced math options, including stat and data science, may align better with some students’ college and career goals" says @PamelaBurdman . Read more at https://t.co/A7Mq7iG5HR

#calculus in high school is not always tied to preparing students for their intended major, nor is it necessarily predictive of a student's math success in college. Taking calculus is often about getting into college. https://t.co/SEj7ZbCZuf
Looking at my son's math grade of 36% on a test. He feels dumb. However in looking at the test he shows great understanding. 36% is clearly not his content knowledge.
Grades do not measure learning.
Teachers, please sign this petition. The College Board is turning Precalculus into an AP class with 58 topics. This will have huge negative consequences including shifting teachers' focus from deep understanding to teaching everything quickly enough so students pass the AP test.
Mastery-based grading rarely shows up in classrooms because schools, districts, and states try to roll it out without recognizing that it requires self-paced learning. We can’t expect students to achieve mastery if everyone has to move on to the next lesson the next day.
Love how their presentation by @Steph_Does_Math and @askmrsmartinez on pathways naturally moved into a tangent about our work in Standards Based Learning. It’s all connected! We’re changing the student experience in @sdschools! #ncsm22
Super proud to call @Steph_Does_Math my friend and colleague. We’ve started good things in San Diego, and today she and @askmrsmartinez got to share this work with other educators.
Great morning talking about HS mathematics…my feelings all on one slide. Curriculum changes are needed, technology needs to be embraced and not feared, and students need to experience the beauty of math, not drowned in its procedures. #NCSM22
New blog post: The Teaching and Learning of Mathematics is NOT About “Right Answers”
"When my students are learning mathematics, the answer is less critical. It only tells me one thing. How a student arrives at that answer tells me LOTS of things."

Kid scores 100% on a retest... Only given a 70%. For what possible justification do we put scores in the gradebook that do not match what a student knows?
There is no average time to learn something. Punishing students for taking longer to learn something seems archaic
Math assessments should go beyond scoring correct/incorrect by analyzing the ways students approached the problems. We need to understand *how* students are thinking, not just if they can compute properly. #mtbos
Haven't had a chance to do this project with my math class for a few years now, but I get to teach my students a bit about golf course design while trying to disguise it as math today with my scale factor golf course design project. I'll show off some finished products next week!
