@haralabob Teams in the relegation zone could then swap their picks via trade to strip the punishments from them - unintended consequences in all directions
@themiasandrist Cleveland’s 1st rounders not looking particularly valuable in the near future, whereas that Suns pick could be high in the lottery based on their recent history of “team building”
The current “online safety amendment” before our parliament has been referred to a Senate committee of inquiry …. which allows for each of us to make our submissions within … one whole day … this is a complete farce & everyone involved should be voted out #auspol
This is so embarrassing. Imagine trying to take credit for this crap instead of winning an election opposing it. What happened to “liberal” principles? I’ll be voting for whichever candidate stands against this the most strongly - let’s hope there is one.
This is quite possibly the worst policy I have ever seen. This will be devastating to privacy (for both children and adults), education (which relies on resources like YouTube) and access to online services for all Australians (when social media providers refuse to comply).
@richo3000 Your tweet did not sound like you had made your own mind up based on unedited primary sources, because there aren’t primary sources that support what you claimed. You linked an MSNBC blog post so I assumed that’s where your misconceptions originated. Apologies if I was incorrect.
@richo3000 I don’t know who “accepted” outside interference (of which there has been an immense amount in both directions). That requires knowledge of a candidate’s state of mind and is self-evidently not the bit of your tweet I was asking about or challenging.
@richo3000 Your original tweet was just a by-product of the ongoing disgraceful rhetoric from the likes of MSNBC - anybody who solely watched their irresponsible lies, hoaxes and propaganda would justifiably be feeling confused and sick right now, thinking Hitler has just taken over.
@richo3000 I’m concerned about people making false claims on the internet, which was why I asked my original question. I’ve got no concerns with Biden calling whomever he wants “garbage”.
@richo3000 Joe Biden did actually say Donald Trump’s supporters (roughly half the country) were “garbage” though. Nobody ever said the things you’re claiming in response about half the country. That Vance article you are quoting has him talking about “parents” (of both sexes, not “women”).
@_colourmeamused It should (mostly) generate what you instruct it to - if you’re seeking an AI-generated illustration to accompany a short story/article that features that scenario, what business does the AI have policing what it considers to be “inclusive” without any knowledge of the context?
The Positive.
The positive spin on this is that AI alignment cannot just be about fixing some technical issues with AI. It is by necessity a religious project of permanently changing reality from an amoral, uncaring process that just happens to use humans for now, to an explicitly moral substrate that *locks in* human axiology forever.
Friendship, trees, sunshine, love, abundance, the pleasure of knowledge, good health and many other things that are core to the best possible human life must be turn into nigh-immutable laws. Efficiency, competition, productivity, etc must be permanently put into second place.
I hope this provides some of the thinking behind my pinned post (humanity united for the singularity), and why I want to dedicate myself to this.
Peace.
