This here novel of mine is part science fiction part #conspiracy theory part murder #mystery part social commentary part #psychedelic trip part jam band improvisation part attempted artistic statement part fan #fiction and part requiem for an era. 100% Outsider Storytelling. No rules is the best rule.
@ItsJohnDulak It's not giving up. Today's publishing world is pretty cheesy (and often sleazy). Independent authors get to choose how they want to make things happen. Publishers and agents absolutely DO NOT let you do what you think is needed (unless you're famous).
I'm putting this here because I know somewhat where this guy is coming from. I have struggled myself with alcohol. I wonder too, often in fact, how much of the problem folks have with hate and anger ON ALL SIDES is due to drugs and alcohol. You don't have to be an addict to be affected in ways you don't realize or understand.
At the family’s behest, this sad news is finally being shared. I’ve known since Friday that he left this plane on Wednesday morning. The feeling of loss, for me, & many in my circle, is profound. Blood was 1 of 1. He was made of the stuff that Blues is made of. Raw. Pure. Elemental.

So, they've always been looking to destroy this world and act out their anger on others. ALWAYS!
We don't counter that by complaining or deciding life will never be the same. We counter it by understanding the job has always been to create a new world that's even better.
One last post from Sunday morning baseball. This is my son, Jesse, back on the field with friends and other lovers of the game here in the Philly Area, 3 years after retiring from a 14-season career as a pro. Yeah, sometimes you get to be the ringer.
@markocantdunk EXCELLENT SHARE! Perfect. And he was quite aware of the whole fascist psyche when he wrote that novel...just before the US entered WWII but with fascism drenching so much of the world, including the US.
Did he follow that outline, though? I prep for my books for a couple years with research, outlines, notes, bios, full setting descriptions. Whatever seems right. I never look at any of that stuff once I start writing. Only a fraction of what seemed proper ever shows up. My take? Is it a novel thing you create if you follow a path already cleared and comforting?
@QuintusCurtius Always good to know about something you don't like, though, right? I mean, what if you hadn't read those books? The entire universe would be altered. And you wouldn't be able to complain about them, unless you made up your disdain (which would still change history forever).
@GrandsCru@Strandjunker The question of the "majority" has been specious for the the longest time here in the good old USofA. Far less than 25% of voters show up for primaries. Barely 35% show up for mid-terms. (And that would simply be "voters" as opposed to eligibles). Does the media point that out?
@GrandsCru@Strandjunker 100% agree on the non-voter issue. Biggest problem of all in this so-called democracy...one the Republicans count on at every level.

Time for the journalism world (and its audience) to re-tool. When they kill an institution we build back better. It's that simple. Just going to take some real leadership.
This is a devastating interview.
Scott Pelley tells the NYT that Bari Weiss directly put a “thumb on the scale” for Trump over the killing of Renee Good.
Here’s his explanation of exactly what happened.
