25 major U.S. data center projects. One free tracker.

I’m tracking:

→ Major projects being developed
→ Owners and developers

A billion-dollar data center announcement isn’t a bid invitation.

Before chasing the work, I’d check:

Who owns it?
Who’s the GC?
Is prequalification open?
Are bid packages available?

Finding the project is easy. Finding a path into the work takes research.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

You don’t have to build the entire data center to get a contract.

Fencing, hauling, equipment rental, cleaning, security and sitework all support these massive projects.

I’m tracking who’s building them and where the work may go next.

What does your company do?

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

@Seanzqbf @BravesWorldwide Are you in the clubhouse to observe his behavior

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

By the time cranes go up on a data center project, some contracts may already be awarded.

I’m watching earlier signals: land approvals, power agreements, design contracts, GC selection and subcontractor prequalification.

The earlier you know, the better you can prepare.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

Before chasing a data center construction project, I’d ask 5 questions:

Who’s the owner?
Who’s the GC?
Which trades are awarded?
When does procurement start?
How do I get prequalified?

Finding the project is step one. Finding a path into the work is what matters.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

The more data center projects I research, the more I realize the opportunity extends beyond the buildings

Substations. Water systems. Roads. Generators. Fiber

That’s a lot of construction work happening around these campuses

What part of this work is your company involved in?

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

The more data center projects I follow, the more obvious this gets:

This isn’t just a technology story. It’s a contractor story.

Electrical. Mechanical. Civil. Concrete. Fire protection. Low voltage. Commissioning.

What trade am I missing?

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

A $10B data center gets the headline.

I’m more interested in where the money goes.

Who gets the GC work? Electrical? Mechanical? Civil? Specialty trades? Suppliers?

For contractors, finding the project is only step one. The real opportunity is following the work.

Issue #005 of Data Center Contractor Report is live.

I’m tracking the projects, contractors, power infrastructure and procurement signals behind the U.S. data center construction boom.

The headline tells us what’s being built. I’m trying to find where the work moves next.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

AWS is putting $1B into U.S. data center communities over 5 years.

What caught my attention: the opportunity doesn’t stop at the fence.

Power. Water. Workforce. Infrastructure. Contractors. Suppliers.

The data center is the anchor. The impact spreads outward.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

Finding a data center project is the easy part.

The harder question: Who do you call?

Developer? GC? Electrical? Mechanical? Sitework? Procurement?

I’m spending less time chasing data center headlines and more time figuring out who actually has the work.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

Late-night thought: I keep digging through U.S. data center construction projects, and the opportunity is bigger than the headlines.

Electrical, mechanical, civil, concrete and specialty contractors all need a path into the work.

That’s what I’m tracking.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

Data center contractors reported 9.9 months of backlog vs. 8.3 months for contractors without data center work.

That’s why I’m following more than project announcements.

The real question is: how does your company get into the contracting chain?

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

Late-night thought: The opportunity in data center construction isn’t just finding the next project.

It’s knowing which general contractors, electrical contractors and sitework companies are getting positioned around it.

Follow the work, not just the headlines.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

A data center project isn’t one contract. It’s a chain.

Developer → GC → major trades → civil/sitework → specialty contractors & suppliers.

The headline tells you what’s being built. I’m more interested in who’s getting the work and who could be next.

[Data Center Contractor Report @DCCReport]

$98.5B in U.S. data center construction starts so far in 2026

Big number. But I’m watching something else

Which projects actually break ground next and which contractors, trades and suppliers move with them

The announcement gets the headline
The contracting chain gets the work
