Van Lith is a great example and proof that the program you go to MATTERS. The staff you play for MATTERS. The environment you’re in MATTERS.
Sometimes it’s not the hype, it’s FIT!
It's not "D1 or bust" anymore. Too many institutions out here that NEED you RIGHT NOW. Go where you're VALUED and WANTED. That will treat you right, RIGHT NOW!

Reminder to high school and Juco student athletes.
Don’t be fooled about all the offers that are posted on social media.
Some programs have 1 to 2 JV programs and aren’t transparent about which team they are recruiting you for.
Ask questions!!!
I just got a response from a D2 coach to email about a HS kid I sent him that basically said "we don't look at high school players anymore".
Take note. He's not the only one.
What he ALSO said is that they recruit JUCO players heavily now.
A lot of good players would be a lot better if they went to a school that truly understands player development. Not system development (because that’s a real thing) but true development of your skills, confidence, aggression, etc
You’ll pay thousands for AAU and sign up for a recruiting service, but you won’t do ballhandling drills in your driveway?
That math isn’t adding up to me.
JUCO will potentially go from a fall back plan to a number one option for a lot of recruits.
However, just because you WANT to go JUCO doesn’t necessarily mean you can PLAY at this level. Dawgs only!
Scenario:
2 years of JUCO
2 years at D1 and earning a real undergrad degree
2 years at D1 earning a masters degree
NIL money to get a head start in life with a masters in hand without playing a minute of pro ball
