Today marks the 98th anniversary of the Geo. Washington National Masonic Memorial (@GWMMem) cornerstone ceremony. DC Freemasons were among those who participated in the ceremony along with Presidents Coolidge and Taft.

On Sunday, the MWGM @AlanGor19730382 celebrated the Grand Lodge Day of Thanksgiving and Remembrance @GWMMem honoring the anniversaries of 9/11 and Pearl Harbor with speeches from brethren across our jurisdiction!

#OTD in 1907, President & Mason Theodore Roosevelt laid the cornerstone of @WNCathedral, with the same gavel George Washington used to lay the cornerstone of the @uscapitol in 1793. The gavel, and other masonic symbols, can still be found in the Cathedral’s “Masonic corner.”

Our Grand Lodge lost one of its beloved and longest-serving members this week. We remember our Worshipful Bro. Walter F. Simon, Grand Chaplain Emeritus.

Today we remember Sen. Mike Enzi who passed away tragically earlier this week. Senator and Bro. Enzi was an active Freemason and was awarded the Grand Lodge of DC’s Medal of Freedom in 2019 by MWB Richard Bautista.
