Important to contextualize the events unfolding presently. This, the greatest essay published in the past half-century (54 years to be exact), enumerates the conditions black people existed in more than a half-century ago.

Note the nomenclature used
Nick Herbig has also played just 1200 career snaps in three years. And it was a steal for Pittsburgh.
It’s why I can’t understand how a players like Cashius Howell and R Mason Thomas fell to the middle of Round 2.
These next few years for Chase are about him solidifying his historical standing in the receiver pantheon. Knock on wood that he stays healthy because he has the opportunity to be the first no doubt Bengals HoFer since Munoz with a strong run here.
@jansjay@Domo8186@DCSportsDre he would play until immediately before tip off for a different ailment. How is that not terrifying to you when the alternative is another super talented prospect that should also make a bunch of allstar games?
@jansjay@Domo8186@DCSportsDre disastrous on a few levels and the reason he’s given for what transpired, we have a few medical professionals on record questioning the soundness of the claim. Even beyond the cramps, he sat an important, nationally televised game when everyone on the team and the staff thought
They should absolutely be looking to move Ward (and perhaps they are, there’s obviously no reason to go on record saying that you’re looking to move him and a denial at this point in the offseason doesn’t mean much).
Few Browns notes on Myles Garrett trade from @SportsCenter
*Browns' desire for a young, ascending pass rusher (and Jared Verse, specifically), shrunk candidate pool. Per team source, this was a Rams-specific deal because Rams 'hounded' CLE for a while.
*Myles Garrett did not request a trade similar to last offseason. Team made deal because due to the trade value.
*Don't sense this is a fire sale. Was told a hard no on Denzel Ward's availability, for example.
This is legit rough stuff man
Still living a charmed life of course but man, within the narrow strictures of that profession, a bigger professional downgrade is simply not conceivable.
@stpalme1 be ready to compete, Verse will be amongst the highest paid players in the league at his position, that detracts from the value of the return imo.
The return is (likely) a good edge that’s about to need to be paid (and will probably be overpaid), a late first, a late 2nd in the draft after next year’s draft and a compensatory quality pick the year after that. The return looks better on paper than what it probably ends up as
Now agreed to and official: The #Browns are trading Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the #Rams for star edge Jared Verse, a 2027 1st-round, a 2028 2nd round, and a 2029 3rd, per me, @AdamSchefter and @TomPelissero.
The offseason's biggest trade is final and real.
@stpalme1 That’s a fact, I was simply pointing out that having to pay a top of the market contract to a non elite player in relatively short order diminishes the value of that return, not that it was a thing that would cause them consternation straight away. By the time they’ll presumably
The difference between Myles Garrett and Jared Verse was a 25% vs. 17% win rate last year. And through Week 8, Garrett was getting doubled at the highest rate in the NFL.
🚨🚨🚨
Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
@stpalme1 He doesn’t need to be paid for a couple years, but my guess is that they’ll be paying him next offseason to placate him given the DRASTIC downgrade in circumstances that was just foisted upon him lol
You’re right though, it’s not a thing that absolutely has to happen.
