Dave, Steve and I visited Kevin and Kristy and the turf tennis court at @highparkclub yesterday. It’s always fun and educational to spend time there. We pulled some #OM246 samples and chatted about deep-tine aeration, among many other things.
This comes up every now and again. But it shouldn't. I'm reminded of this concluding remark from McBride: "Given these facts, percent base saturation seems not to be a particularly useful concept.” https://t.co/v8UpK8A2vA
Celebrating DCS’s 25-year anniversary today. We started our day with Rhododendrons, moved on to sample a Toronto churchyard and ended up at Zander Sod. It has been a rather eclectic rainy day. 🌾🌺

As of yesterday, I've finished all of the courses for @uofg's Sustainable Urban Agriculture Certificate. Excited to be done, and to read just for pleasure again! I'll be back at my desk at DCS & Associates tomorrow, and in the field soon. Looking forward to seeing other humans!
Last week Lauren Kuck went to Florida to check out a site for our 2022 Annual Conference! All of our speakers are booked and we are already excited about everything that the 2022 Conference will offer!
Nice article talking about ecosystem service provision of golf courses. We are currently applying this way of thinking in terms of water management on golf courses. One site's problem is another site's gain!
This considers some tests that are readily available, and quite interesting, but that are not commonly checked---tests of soil health and carbon and soil microbial activity. Good read.
Great article on changing the general perception of the urban golf course. “If you look at satellite imagery of a big city, the golf courses are some of the largest green areas within the vast landscape of asphalt, concrete, tar and roofing shingle.” As courses ⬇️ asphalt ⬆️
I just published a new blog post. Changing Perceptions: Ecosystem Services, Carbon Sequestration & Urban Golf Courses.

Bet, Sharon, and I would like to extend Thanksgiving Greetings to all.
This year has presented many challenges but also showed us how much we have to be thankful for.
We now look back at the season and are grateful for the support of our dear friends and clients....
