@Jonathansegal85 My Spanish friends, how can anyone vote far-right, racist VOX party? My French friends, how can anyone vote racist LePen? My Italian friends, how can anyone vote populist Meloni? My Austrian friends, how can anyone vote pro-Russian Freedom Party?. Unfortunately, this is deep
@J_my_sci Agreed. But we can't keep re-analyzing data forever (or can we?). So in the meantime: read the methods, then re-read the methods (and metadata), then question the methods. Only after this, it is worth reading the paper. Same goes as editor/reviewer
@StevenSalzberg1 As before, I'm afraid we will load the gtf files to find a majority of predictions that look plain wrong and noisy. So yes, how transcripts are predicted and how methods handle sources of misannotations are crucial. Otherwise, fancy but a waste of end-user time
Shame on him, shame on collaborators and publishers that looked the other way. They can now retract the papers, the damage is done: this guy accumulated influence and power, junior scientists were for years forced to perpetuate this, their ethics and careers degraded

@anaconesa Wouldn't blame reviewer 3. Would blame the program manager recruiting/assigning reviewers not appropriate for the grant. More so, for rarely setting up fund mechanisms focused on comp. methods development, makes it much more difficult for developers to get the message through.
