@sylabdul Not against the idea personally
Just dont want it to become an excuse WB use as cover for DCUs failures
"Was the plan all along" 🤦♂️
Makes me wonder what the approach becomes should the merger indeed be finalized
Did you read what I said?
Its what I told you about

Moving forward anything live action DC is essentially just one big MULTIVERSE
NO ONE STORYLINE is the MAIN storyline, it's just a bunch of different Universes all within DC
BVS reaction.
After years of throwing shade and hating on Zack & his movies, now he thinks it’s a great movie.
“.. in time, they’ll join you in the sun Kal” so poetic.
Zacks tone and visuals are MARVELess 😏
One of many reasons that made his DC so memorable
Time to put aside the childish act and get back to a much more mature approach
#SnyderVerse
Assuming shes the general audience studios hope watch these films, if so, she understood the assignment

Before my post about Gunn losing his position, which predates the CosmicBook News article
I remember some throwing a tantrum over this guys takes, but was he not one of the 1st few to suggest Gunn could be out at DC if Paramount got WB?
Anyone remember?
Zack Snyder posted two Henry Cavill Superman images back-to-back on Instagram this morning, captioned "On my planet, it means hope. And it will always mean hope."
Cosmic Book News' insiders report the SnyderVerse is "in full play" for a return if Paramount wins the WBD acquisition, with Saudi investors backing a Justice League event film to rival Marvel. The same insiders say James Gunn could be out at DC before Man of Tomorrow ships.
The timing, against Batman Part II casting, the WBD merger process, and Supergirl's pre-opening struggles, is not accidental.
What does he mean by this?
@ZackSnyder
Bells already been rung, and they've heard it
Justice is calling
Your return is desired
End this Knightmare
Its time we all "Wake the Fuck Up"

It had been said for some time
Gunns DCU(technically now called The Superman Family Saga) is no longer the main priority within DC in Live Action moving forward
Steps are currently being taken to rejuvenate and revitalize the Brand
BIG CHANGES COMING!
.@NolteNC: "Supergirl" is looking at a $47-65M opening, which would be a disaster for a superhero tentpole that costs $175 million to produce and at least another $75 million to promote.
That puts break-even at right around $500 million global. https://t.co/X7uKQRM5b2

James Gunn's DCU is stumbling hard out of the gate — and the whole thing is already showing major cracks.Superman (2025) was meant to be the triumphant reboot that kicks off a new era. It topped out around $618M worldwide — solid domestically but a clear international underperformer that couldn't match the cultural heat or legs of past flagship launches. Not the universe-building momentum DC desperately needed.
Now the backlash is piling on for the next wave:
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has reportedly gone through eight test screenings with mostly mixed-to-negative feedback. Praise for Milly Alcock's performance, but heavy criticism for underwhelming action sequences, a weak villain (Krem), poor pacing, and an ending that's been rewritten multiple times. Reshoots are adding more Lobo and Superman cameos — a sign the studio doesn't fully trust the film to carry itself.
Lanterns (the HBO series) dropped a teaser that triggered instant backlash. Fans slammed the lack of green in the suits, the muted/“ugly” aesthetic, and the hyper-grounded True Detective-style tone that feels disconnected from classic Green Lantern mythology. The showrunner had to publicly address the controversy, but the early vibe is more gritty cop drama than cosmic superhero epic.
Bigger systemic issues remain:
Tonal whiplash: Hopeful, bright Superman vs. the cynical, ultra-violent Peacemaker/Creature Commandos energy — and now a darker Supergirl and grounded Lanterns. Still no clear cohesive universe.
Over-reliance on weird/obscure stuff early on while icons feel shaky. Delays, cancellations, and fan fatigue are real.
Casting & division: Lingering Snyderverse resentment, polarizing choices, and test screening red flags aren't building confidence.
Box office & cultural reality: In a post-MCU fatigue era, this reboot isn't catching fire. Warner Bros. instability adds more uncertainty.
Gunn has passion and past successes, but three-plus years in, the DCU feels like a collection of bumpy experiments instead of a confident new direction. No must-see event status, soft momentum on TV, and growing online skepticism.
DC deserves better than another patchwork era. Fans wanted hope and spectacle — not endless “it’s complicated” headlines. Is 2026 going to save it, or are we looking at more trouble ahead?

(Still early, but the warning signs keep multiplying.)
