Parents should be allowed to take their children out of school for a very limited number of days per year, over reasons they choose.

Let's show a bit of common sense here. The prices are so wildly different out of term time, it is often the difference between a family being able to afford a decent holiday abroad, or not go at all.

Will a child missing a week of school a year damage their education? Perhaps, a little. Will that quality time spent with their family more than compensate? Yes, yes it will.

And that is a decision for the parents to take, not the state.

I have pushed the Department on this, with zero progress. They just don't want to know.

Let's remember - MPs have very generous time off from Westminster, timed to coincide with the school holidays.

Others do not have that same luxury, particularly in areas that are reliant on tourism - like my constituency

All of this from the same people who shut schools for months when the virus posed almost zero risk to children, and were desperate to do it for longer. Forcing boys and girls to learn from a kitchen table, and many had no access to proper outdoor space.

THAT did far more damage to children's education than a few days away in the sun with their family.

PLEASE. Let's just show a modicum of common sense, FOR ONCE.

If parents want to take their child out of school for a limited period of time, very occasionally, as they believe that experience will benefit their son or daughter?

I say that's their choice.

I want to just be able to enjoy a sunset, a glass of wine whilst stroking my dogs.
I've got a nice life that I worked hard to create.
I should feel contented and relaxed, but there's this feeling of foreboding, it's like a cloud spoiling a sunny day.

The super rich are ring fenced and always will be.
Those dependent on the state are growing in numbers and they're inviting more in.

There's only one place they can get money from now and that's the middle class, the home owners, business owners, and they'll just think of crazy Ways to tax and fine us, and the saddest part of all, there isn't really any place to run .

Today my daughter and I were in the car. Behind us, a man in a big Porsche. He seemed to take umbrage when I stopped to let a pedestrian cross (the lights ahead were red anyway). He tried to undertake me, but failed. He then tailgated me for about half a mile, gesticulating like a demented ape, before eventually ramming his car into the back of mine. My daughter was very scared, so I just moved off, having decided he was too out of control to confront. He then fell back, and turned off onto a side road. But I took down the registration: BK08 WKW. The incident took place near Parson's Green, in London. I also have a picture of him. I have reported him to the police, but if you are unfortunate enough to know this preposterous individual, you might like to inform him that he picked the wrong bitch to bully today.
