@WISCTV_News3@GovEvers ignored the pleas of help from parents who came the hearings and shared their stories of not finding out their student was struggling to read until they were older. Reading Readiness was a plan forward. Evers took that from these students. #eversIgnoresParents
@WISCTV_News3 The funding is already there for these assessments and schools already do them 3X per year. The truth is that schools will notify parents by saying their student is "fine" or "getting extra help". Parents need data and transparency. Struggling readers need help quickly!!
@RepMyers Yes!! And we understand that @GovEvers could have added funding if he wanted from the money he controls. WI Kids need help NOW!! Parents want to know help is here!!
We have a problem and βkicking the can down the roadβ with another task force does nothing to solve it. Funding already exists for screening, the bill only asked that screeners meet specific criteria.
