Today marks four years since the conflict in #Ukraine escalated.
The DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal was one of our largest ever appeals, raising over £446 million from the UK public to support people affected by the crisis.
Thanks to this generosity, DEC charities and their local partners have reached over ten million people with support. This includes:
➡️ Providing emergency food, clean water and shelter to families in need
➡️ Supporting access to healthcare, cash assistance and mental health support
➡️ Delivering aid both in Ukraine and to those who fled to neighbouring countries
Our appeal has now closed but a number of DEC charities and their local partners continue to respond, adapting their work to meet the ongoing needs of communities affected by the disaster.

Dr Unni Krishnan, Global Humanitarian Director at DEC charity Plan International, is working with local teams in Egypt to prepare food packs that will make their way to families in Gaza. Each truck will provide five days' worth of food for around 6,000 people. But, as Dr Unni Krishnan points out, this is only a fraction of what is needed.
The ceasefire agreement in Gaza provides desperately-needed hope and relief for so many people whose lives have been devastated by conflict.
DEC charities and their local partners are now preparing to scale up their work again, after months of extraordinary challenges delivering aid. The levels of need are catastrophic.
The DEC is now renewing its appeal for donations to help meet the overwhelming needs in Gaza following the ceasefire agreement. As people in Gaza look towards an uncertain future, your support can be a lifeline.
Please donate now. https://t.co/Vi656KPzHQ
Let’s get into Gaza, let’s help the people, let’s get the hostages home, let the aid agencies get to work, and pray that the peace may hold, and pray that wise heads can reach a Middle East solution.
DEC charities are ready to go. Open the gates!
